DCMS Strategic Plan 2012-15
Purposes of DCMS:
Vision Statement:
The Dane County Medical Society: the unified voice of doctors, advocating for their patients, their profession and a better health care system.
Goals and Objectives:
· Goal 1: Improve the public’s health in Dane County
o Objective A: Create and promulgate an inventory of opportunities and engage DCMS members to participate in local public health efforts and initiatives.
o Objective B: Identify and adopt one key initiative for each year and engage DCMS members to be involved.
o Objective C: Invest a minimum of $5,000 of DCMS funds per year into community initiatives, preferably ones that involve DCMS members through the grant process.
· Goal 2: Increase opportunity for DCMS members to advocate for patients and our profession
o Objective A: Provide two educational programs per year on legislative or policy issues.
o Objective B: Provide two advocacy related educational programs / resources per year.
o Objective C: Increase number of resolutions to the WMS House of Delegates authored by DCMS members.
· Goal 3: Increase membership, membership retention and member engagement
o Objective A: Email welcome communication to all new members.
o Objective B: Increase communication to members that outlines benefits and opportunities.
o Objective C: Create DCMS member listserve and increase number of participants in DCMS social media so as to exchange information and ideas in timely manner.
o Objective D: Develop two new programs targeted at medical students and residents to increase participation in DCMS.
o Objective E: Actively partner with the Wisconsin Medical Society to identify educational and engagement opportunities for current and prospective DCMS members.
